Play B C Preschool believes that all children have the right to broad and balanced learning experiences and is fully committed to inclusion for all. We will provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual and unique needs.
Play B C Preschool is committed to working alongside families in order to meet their children’s individual needs and enable them to develop to full potential. The preschool is committed to working with any child who has an additional need and making reasonable adjustments to enable every child to make full use of the preschool facilities. All children have a right to a broad and well-balanced early learning environment.
Where a child has additional needs, it is important to find out as much as possible about those needs, any way that they may affect early learning or care needs and any extra help required by:
- Liaising with families
- Liaising with professional agencies
- Reading any reports that have been prepared
- Attending any review meetings with the local authority or other professionals
- Observing development and monitoring such observations regularly.
Where the preschool believes a child may have additional needs that have previously been unacknowledged, it will work closely with the child’s families and any relevant professionals to establish if any additional action is required.
Sutton Borough have compiled a ‘Local Offer’ which is one stop shop of services and support that they expect to be available to children and young people from the age of 0 to 25 years with special educational needs or a disability and their parents and carers. You can find out more about this on their website
