This week we were learning about Chinese New Year customs. We shared the story of the race and discovered that the rat, this year’s animal won by hitching a ride on the ox. We also shared the legend of the monster Nian and found out why the old year is seen out with loud noises likes drums, gongs and firecrackers. We learned that red is a lucky colour, ate noodles and tried using chopsticks.
