At Mill Lane this week we were thinking about family, especially mummies, and made cards for a special person at home. In maths we practised counting flowers and bouquets with one to one correspondence and also reciting numbers in order backwards. With our younger children we worked on extending vocabulary around family life and supporting conversation about people that are not present.
It was great to have the gang all back together at Butter Hill. Some have been away for a long time! This week we followed the children’s interests and learned about dragons. We shared dragon stories and did lots of pretending. The floor was lava for pretty much most of the time so we made soda volcanos too. In maths we looked at one to one correspondence and subtraction, or counting down. With our younger children we extended vocabulary around dragons and supported the development of imaginative play.
In phonics our sound was o.
